A team of NWPC athletes ranked third at Ready for Labour and Defence, a nationwide athletics competition held annually. This was the first year the Company sent a team to compete.
Over the course of four months, 14 teams representing a range of companies, organizations and institutions, fought for the title in a series of physical training and sports competitions, including running, swimming, air rifle marksmanship, strength exercises and ski races.
Athletes demonstrated strength, agility, flexibility and stamina.
In December, the competition was concluded by a ski race, and the best teams and athletes were recognised at an awards ceremony.
