NWPC introduces innovative solution to improve safety of ore mining

North-Western Phosphorous Company (an Acron group company) has completed a project to enhance monitoring of rock movement within the protective pillar, initiated by Yaroslav Gorlov, an engineer from the Rock Burst Forecast and Prevention Service, who participates in the Idea Factory corporate programme.

The project aims to create an automated rock movement monitoring system where the microcontroller continuously monitors the status of reference points. If the readings exceed safe limits, employees are automatically notified so that they can respond promptly. Notably, all the equipment was assembled using materials available in the company’s warehouses, and the project’s author independently performed the entire work cycle, from selecting components and designing the process flow to installing and integrating them into the monitoring system.

The Idea Factory project encourages all employees to propose ways of improving operating processes and working conditions. The company adopts best ideas and rewards their authors, including with cash bonuses.
