NWPC starts to build a temporary pumping station

19.05.2026

North-Western Phosphorous Company, an Acron Group company, is constructing a temporary pumping station at the Oleniy Ruchey mine site to prepare for the flood season. The station is being built at a depth of 100 metres, and will drain water from depths of 20 metres and below.

NWPC will install three pumping units, each with a capacity of 850 m³ per hour, and lay over 1.5 kilometres of 530 mm high-flow pipeline for drainage. Two water collectors with a capacity of over 3,000 m3 will be installed to serve as settling tanks for the collected water. The station will have modern control and monitoring equipment.

The mine’s personnel will carry out all construction and installation work on the pumping stations. The project will ensure stable and safe operation of the mine as it transitions to deeper levels of developed deposit, and efficient ore extraction in the future.

The water drainage system is an essential component of any mine. Due to the inflow of process and natural water into the mine workings, water accumulates in collectors, and must be swiftly pumped out.
