On 14–15 November 2024, North-Western Phosphorous Company participated in the annual conference Mining Industry in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region: View to the Future. Held in Kirovsk, the forum brought together representatives of business community, state authorities, academia and education, focusing on the sustainable development of the Arctic mining complex based on strategic partnerships.
On 14 November, the participants discussed the federal and regional policies for the development of the Arctic mining industry, current goals and ways of achieving them, development strategy and co-operation. Evgeny Sozinov, CEO of NWPC and head of the delegation, spoke at the session.
On the second day, the participants attended specialised panels on the labour market, collaboration with research institutions and improvement of service segment, that were held at various industry sites in Murmansk region, including NWPC’s underground mine, open pit and processing plant.
As an outcome of the conference, the participants formulated their proposals for the resolution.
