North-Western Phosphorous Company (member of Acron Group) opened a new IT-laboratory at the Murmansk Arctic University (MAU) branch in Apatity.
Equipped with modern computers, the new laboratory will research modelling and data processing, and carry out practical and laboratory work in various disciplines. At the inaugural lesson, an associate professor of the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering Alexander Vicentiy showed the students how to create a one-page website. Andrey Ril, NWPC deputy CEO, welcomed the students: ‘We are pleased to see a landscaped area and well-maintained buildings with new equipment, laboratories and excellent classrooms. The support of local and regional authorities, cooperation with the Kola Science Center, large and medium-sized businesses, an energetic leader and a passionate team of teachers—all this creates a powerful resource, offering today's students great opportunities. North-Western Phosphorous Company has had a successful partnership with the MAU’s Apatity branch since 2019, aiming to enhance the quality of training highly qualified specialists and establish a scientific and methodological foundation for personnel training. In 2023, the first technical mineralogy training laboratory for geology students was established at the MAU’s Apatity branch with the support of NWPC.
