NWPC Team Cleans Shoreline of Lake Imandra

12.08.2021
The NWPC Team supported Water of Russia, a national environmental project, by cleaning the shoreline of Lake Imandra. The team’s target area was the water intake zone located five kilometers from the town of Apatity. Volunteers cleaned the shoreline, collected twenty bags of garbage, and eliminated an illegal dumping site.

‘The area around the Imandra pumping station is one of the most popular and accessible fishing sites. It is also a water intake zone for Apatity residents. That’s why it was particularly important to clean this very area’, said Stanislav Konotop, NWPC Head of Environmental Protection. ‘We would like our cleaning activities to become an example to promote trash pickups along rivers and lakes. We encourage all companies from Kirovsk and Apatity District to join us’.
