NWPC Attends International Mining Conference

Representatives of North-Western Phosphorous Company, an Acron Group company, attended the tenth annual meeting of the international conference The Mining Industry in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region: View to the Future. This year’s event focused on the digital transformation of the Russian mining industry and development in the Arctic.

Opening the plenary session on the first day of the event, Murmansk region governor Andrey Chibis noted the rapid growth of mining companies in the Kola Polar Region and their adoption of the global trend for digital transformation.

In his speech at the plenary session, NWPC CEO Yevgeny Sozinov spoke about the digitalization of the underground complex at the Oleniy Ruchey mine, where the Company introduced a tracking system for equipment and personnel and remote long-hole drilling. Analytical quality control of raw materials improved the output of the processing plant. Another innovation involved a system of pre-trip inspections using terminals.

The second day of the event saw sessions and round tables held at industrial sites belonging to the region’s mining companies, with the Oleniy Ruchey mine hosting guests for the first time. Visitors learned about the mine’s production cycle and shared their own experiences with digital transformation.
