NWPC Building Third Stage of Crushing and Conveyor Complex

27.02.2024

North-Western Phosphorous Company, an Acron Group company, is sinking and lining an underground crushing chamber at the −140 metre level to construct the third stage of the Oleniy Ruchey mine crushing and conveyor complex, which will deliver the ore from 100 metres below the surface.

The commissioning of the conveyor complex, scheduled for Q4 2024, will reduce the mining and end-product cost and increase the underground mine’s capacity to 6 million tonnes of ore per year.

The construction of the complex began in 2018, with the first and second stages coming on stream in 2020 and 2022 respectively. To date, the conveyors have transported approximately 5.5 million tonnes of ore to the surface.

As the mine development continues, the crushing and conveyor complex will reach a depth of −600 metres.
